InDesign - YouTube: Magazine Layout Tutorial

The second part of my Anicillary Task is to make a magazine film review. So to help get an idea on how to make a layout for this I decided to watch an InDesign tutorial, since this is the programme I would use to create it.

In the beginning the tutorial shows how to set up the blank page you wish to work on (e.g. page size).

In this they are copying some text that they wish to use for the page they going to use. This tells us that it is easy and simple to insert text into the programme.

They then paste the text into the InDesign programme and show us how to adjust the font size, text positioning etc.

Here they show how to change title fonts and sizes for selected words that, in this case, you want to enlarge so that it stands out and if more eye catching.

In this screen shot they have shown what the page would look like with an effective image as the background. Here they show you how to import this image and the other smaller images, as well as changing the font colour of the title so that it stands out against the red background image.

Here the tutorial shows you how to insert textboxes and other images and how to place them between the columns of text.

In this we can now see the page in its final stages. Due to the uses of different positioning of texts, the page now looks to be at quite a professional standard that would be effective in attracting its audiences.
